About Innovation Works (IW)
Innovation Works believes that human capital is the lifeblood of Baltimore City. A large base of Baltimore’s human capital lacks access to and knowledge of Baltimore’s innovation assets. IW’s goal is to accompany community members to use their lived experience to generate innovative, entrepreneurial solutions to help solve their community’s unique issues. Ultimately, this will create a better quality of life, more resilient neighborhoods, and a safer, more vibrant Baltimore.
About IW’s Business Systems
Now in our fourth year of operation, IW’s business systems have evolved organically, without a clear vision for sustainable scalability. As the team has grown and our business services have expanded in depth and breadth, the need for a systematized data management structure has become clear. Over the past year, we’ve begun a search for a more sophisticated CRM/LMS to help our social entrepreneurs (SEs) and mentors interact, access content, and progress through our development pipeline more fluidly. Beyond this main piece of systems architecture, there is room for improvement across all data management platforms and a need for enhanced KPI measurement as we gain traction.
ABOUT THE ROLE – Business Systems Analyst
As Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for (a) general systems maximization, and (b) finding, implementing, and managing a robust and comprehensive customer relationship management tool with learning management system capabilities.
A. Regarding general systems, you will be in charge of evaluating our current platforms (primarily Airtable, as well as Gusto, QuickBooks, Slack, Google Workspace, etc.) and determining the best way for these platforms to interact and coexist efficiently and smoothly. Prior knowledge of other IT solutions will help you determine what to keep, improve upon, scrap, or translate.
B. Regarding a CRM/LM system, you will have access to pre-existing research and evaluation done by our internal team and external consultants. Using this information, you will help analyze the current market for vendors, draft vendor business requirements, comprehensively evaluate top solutions, select, and help implement a chosen platform. The needs of the CRM/LM are two-fold:
- Facilitate seamless engagement between staff, SEs, and mentors, allowing SE/mentor connections to happen quickly and flexibly and allowing SEs to opt into self-help channels where appropriate.
- Allow IW staff to manage these relationships en masse sustainably, moving SEs through our 5-stage pipeline, keeping better track of each SE/mentor interaction, and rolling up individual SE success metrics to determine IW’s overall KPIs.
