POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Cause-Driven leader, the Manager, Learning & Development role helps to develop and manage all key processes related to Training and Certifications for all associates. Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director, Learning & Development, the Manager, Learning & Development role will support all aspects of professional development, training and certifications, associate engagement, and overall administrative tasks. This role will provide frontline customer service support to managers, leaders, and associates to increase professional development opportunities as well as provide quality training and certifications for all. In addition, this role has oversight for HR related data in support of the entire Human Resources department. The Manager, Learning & Development demonstrates the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all areas of job performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide ongoing and daily support to the Learning & Development Team
  • Facilitate interactive training programs including course materials and other documents such as handout, manuals and exercises.
  • Manage and support the successful implementation and sustainability of certifications to maintain compliance requirements for all product lines.
  • Deliver training programs and certifications in a formal or informal setting as needed.
  • Oversee the implementation and execution of Basic Life Support courses offered to all associates.
  • Support the Development and implementation of strategies and systems to assess needs and measure outcomes.
  • Foster continuous improvement of learning opportunities and ensure compliance requirements for all associates.
  • Assess program certification and compliance needs and develop strategies to ensure associates understand and have access to certification training.
  • Research and report on the latest trends and developments in learning and compliance.
  • Build and maintain a positive working relationship with all managers, supervisors, and industry subject matter experts to gain knowledge of training needs
  • Organize , Communicate, and Host Association wide regional as well as local training.
  • Monitor all curriculum and training for branding guidelines.
  • Organize and host frequent L&D sessions virtually or at designated regional Y locations to provide virtual/in-person support for Training, Learning & development, and Professional Development for all associates.
  • Respond to training inquiries to help assist in the customer service provided by the L&D team.
  • Perform invoicing and accounting support for HR operations related vendors.
  • Consult with HR Leadership to determine needs, analyze metrics and resolve application issues
  • Ensures efficient recording and reporting of HR metrics, and performs statistical analysis as needed
  • Collects and stores data on HR metrics as identified by leadership and provides quality assurance of imported data in partnership with organizational leadership
  • Uses technical expertise to train and coach end users on proper usage of HRM software and web-based applications

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
  • BA/BS degree in a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • ASHI Trainer Certification
  • YUSA Trainer Certification Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in training and operations
  • A minimum of 3 years supervising others
  • Strong experience with event management, particularly in a corporate environment, budget management, metric management and reporting.
SKILLS
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of associates and new hires across the organization
  • Good decision-making skills, including the ability to negotiate, counsel, advise and influence managers.
  • Ability to work with internal leadership to create efficient systems and clear, consistent internal communication
  • Self-starter with initiative to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use effective judgment/decision making skills
  • Knowledge of human capital systems, hiring tools and personal computer applications including Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet software
  • Advanced proficiency in HRM software and learning management systems
  • Proven analytical skills to compare, evaluate and develop recommendations.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Physically able to successfully complete required job functions, including use of hands, arms, fingers, able to talk and hear, use a computer, sit and stand, regularly move/lift up to 50 pounds, enter all Y environments (office spaces, indoor and outdoor maintenance/mechanical areas, fitness areas, pool and pool space, camping areas, unimproved outdoor locations and other program areas).
