Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

Position Summary

Gabriel Network is a pro-life Christian ministry whose vision is that every vulnerable mother and child is embraced in Christ's love and the care of his people. Gabriel Network empowers a committed network of Christian churches to accompany pregnant mothers and families in need by providing support through pregnancy and beyond. It realizes this mission through three programs: a help line, church-based ministry, and housing ministry. Gabriel Network's Housing Ministry provides structured transitional maternity housing and programming for pregnant mothers.

The Home Director has primary responsibility for the home’s service to mothers, local outreach, the home’s volunteer engagement, and home management. The home serves up to five mothers and their infant children at a time. The Home Director is an important member of the Housing Team and reports to the Executive Director while supervising the Resident Assistants.

Qualifications and Character

Bachelor’s degree or higher is desired, with degrees in counseling, pastoral ministry, or social work preferred. Experience in social work, maternity or group housing, or similar fields strongly preferred. Experience in volunteer management and community/church outreach is helpful.

  • Be a strong team leader and a role model of Christian virtues and habits.
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to problem solve independently.
  • Have experience with social services agencies and benefits.
  • Have direct experience with ministry positions working with women experiencing crisis pregnancies.
  • CPR, first aid, and infant CPR training are a plus.

Primary Responsibilities * Perform all duties in accord with Gabriel Network’s vision, mission, and Statement of Principles and in a manner that reflects positively on Gabriel Network.

  • Establish, in conjunction with the Executive Director and the Housing Team, the Gaithersburg Maternity Home as a sustainable, pregnancy-focused, and Christ-centered housing program for homeless pregnant mothers.
  • Lead outreach to local churches and community groups to build both volunteer Angel Friend Teams and financial support.
  • Embrace trust in the team, mission-focused conflict, commitment, accountability, and attention to results.
  • Lead daily household life and establish a nurturing culture of Christian fellowship, allowing for respite, recovery, and rehabilitation of the residents.
  • Lead and coordinate Resident Assistants.
  • Work with the Housing Team to establish and grow development programming for the residents.
  • Maintain and model consistency, self-awareness, and boundaries, keeping a healthy personal detachment from residents’ personal issues.
  • Ensure that the home and all residents are safe and that home rules are respected.
  • Communicate proactively with residents, home and office staff, and volunteers.
  • Manage and train volunteers to take on increasing responsibilities in the home in programming, presence, and ministry to the mothers.
  • Lead training of both home staff and volunteers.
  • Submit regular reports to the Executive Director as directed.
  • Prudently exercise final decision-making authority within the home.
  • Manage the maintenance of the home to ensure that it is in safe and excellent condition, including the interior, exterior and overall grounds.
  • Run home within authorized budget.
  • Strictly maintain confidentiality of resident files and information.
