OPENING DATE: 03/17/22 CLOSING DATE: Continuous THE POSITION Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Bureau of Community Health Services, Health Equity Program, Department of Health and Human Services. Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Under general supervision, performs routine community outreach duties for public health disease mitigation programs; provides education, and assists with case management.
Performs other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or appropriate equivalent plus at least one year experience working with the public. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of English grammar. Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural influences. Ability to learn and follow county and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, public, and private agencies; ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups; ability to work flexible hours; ability to work in a variety of environments; ability to maintain documentation regarding activities; ability to maintain records, files, and reports; ability to coordinate activities; ability to maintain inventory of supplies. Licenses or Certificates Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment. Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant’s major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable. EXAMINATION PROCEDURE Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT New employees are strongly encouraged to get COVID-19 vaccination. Persons appointed to this classification may be required to work evenings and weekends. The work of this classification requires traveling throughout the county, and therefore, requires daily availability of a vehicle. Training for this position will be provided; successful completion of the training is required. Physical and Environmental Conditions The work of this classification is essentially sedentary but may include occasional walking, standing, lifting or other limited physical activity. Positions may require traveling between work sites. Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation Applicants selected for an appointment to a position in Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination and drug screen and an employment background investigation, including, but not limited to a criminal background, education, and fingerprint check. | ||||||||
