Schedule:
All library Technical Services staff may be required to work evenings, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year as part of the normal work schedule.
Work hours will range between 20 to 24 hours a week.

Job Summary:

• Updates the bibliographic and item database
• Physically processes material by applying all necessary labels and activating security tags
• Applies book jackets and hand glues print material
• Works alongside staff, often in teams, to complete tasks within the department
• Uses a computer to reformat AV inserts and repackage AV in library cases
• Maintains and re-orders department supplies and labeling materials
• Processes all non-traditional library material and technology
• Participates in maintaining and updating the Processing Procedure Manual
• Must be able to meet scheduling requirements by arriving at work on time and staying until the end of
one’s shift
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be flexible with one’s work schedule to meet daily
operational requirement
• Must have access to transportation, as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, including
meetings, events and activities at other branch locations or offsite
• Other duties as assigned

Bargaining Unit Status: Eligible

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Computer skills demonstrated through the proficient use of Microsoft applications
• Two years of experience working in an office environment
• Experience using an Integrate Library System preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and push/pull a wheeled cart weighing up to 185 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch and stretch for extended periods of time
• Must be able to read small print
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to hold and squeeze a glue bottle for extended periods of time
