Class Description

Responsible for maintaining the indoor and outdoor Athletics facilities and equipment. Provides indoor and outdoor facility and equipment support to the Athletics and Wellness Departments for faculty, athletic coaches, camp directors, community members, campus staff, and facility renters.  Provides class, game, camp, and event operation support for all full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, classes, athletic teams, camps, and other facility users. Responsible for equipment distribution, repairs implementation and the campus athletic inventory.
 

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of experience working in a sports or recreation field, in a multi-purpose facility.  Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing. Position requires Blood borne Pathogens training, provided by CCBC, and receiving a Hepatitis B shot or signing a waiver.
 

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Manage and maintain assigned facilities.
  2. Order and take regular inventory of equipment and supplies.
  3. Assist users in the facility.
  4. Assist faculty with class equipment needs.
  5. Maintain all records pertinent to daily operations.
  6. Assist in the supervision of student aides and temporary/hourly staff.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide indoor and outdoor facility and equipment support to the wellness faculty, athletic coaches, camp directors, community members, campus staff, and facility renters.
  2. Assemble, set up, break down, maintain, and repair general and weight equipment for wellness faculty, athletic coaches, camp directors, community members, campus staff, and facility renters.
  3. Provide direct facility and equipment support to wellness activity-based classes including, but not limited to, basketball, dance aerobics, fencing, kickboxing, Swimnastics and zumba.
  4. Operate the equipment room by dispensing and receiving equipment according to department policy, assisting constituents with their daily equipment needs, and performing data input.
  5. Provide for the neat and orderly appearance of the Athletic and Wellness Center and all outdoor facilities.
  6. Maintain outdoor facility areas through trash removal, cutting grass, trimming grass, and general maintenance.
  7. Operate power equipment such as motor vehicles including 15 passenger vans, field utility vehicles, forklifts, ride-on-tractor, lawn mower, weed eater, scoreboard, washing machine, clothes dryer and fax machine.
  8. Aerate, seed, and fertilize natural grass playing fields.
  9. Provide detailed field lining, game set-up, and general preparation of all athletic game venues.
  10. Maintain, clean, and brush any artificial turf playing field according to safety and health codes as trained.
  11. Work with plant operations to secure larger scale and supplemental facility and equipment based services and assist with implementation of same services
  12. Prepare, deliver and pick-up water, cups, balls, equipment, trainer supplies, and related items daily for athletic practices, games, and wellness classes.
  13. Launder and repair athletic uniforms, towels, and other items as needed.
  14. Communicate directly with wellness faculty, athletic coaches, camp directors, community members, campus staff, and facility renters on facility and equipment needs through verbal, written, and electronic communication.
  15. Maintain campus inventory and obligations list of all Athletic and Wellness Department's equipment and supplies and provide that inventory/list to the Administrator, Athletics Operations
  16. Receive campus athletic and wellness departments purchase orders and provide written confirmation of goods to the Administrator, Athletic Operations.
  17. Schedule appointments and meet with vendors and constituents as assigned.
  18. Organize and complete assignments in a timely manner through a continual review of daily, weekly, and monthly schedules and assignments.
  19. Move varying types of equipment between five and seventy-five pounds in weights.
  20. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and at times assignments will need to be performed under adverse weather conditions.
  21. Work with facility users to resolve space utilization problems to ensure effective delivery of service.
  22. Serve as an information source, providing general facility information to all users and assist with the sports information function.
  23. Perform the above tasks at the other CCBC campuses during peak periods and staff absences.
