DESCRIPTION

Role Overview:

As the Regional Recruitment Manager - HBCUs, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and selecting outstanding talent to apply to Urban Teachers’ teacher preparation program located in Dallas/Fort Worth, Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. This includes establishing a significant regional presence for Urban Teachers and its brand, building key strategic partnerships, recruiting at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and attending/participating in/developing and leading events to attract candidates to apply for and join the Urban Teachers Residency program.

This position reports to the Director of Recruitment and will involve up to 40% travel during peak months September – April, with a decrease in the summer months. This role requires flexibility outside of traditional working hours, including occasional evening and weekend events.

Location

  • This is a remote role, with significant travel across the Southeast. Our ideal candidate will be located near a major airport in the Southeast region.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Sourcing and Engagement:

  • Research and build a portfolio of contacts across HBCUs and community-based organizations serving HBCU students
  • Develop, plan, and execute creative virtual and in-person regional to build and cultivate a regional applicant pipeline
  • Utilize applicant sourcing platforms such as Handshake, LinkedIn, and Simplicity to increase applicant pipeline outside of on-the-ground efforts
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective participants throughout the application process through virtual and in-person interactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with Urban Teachers' site teams and develop an understanding of the regional sites’ needs
  • Collaborate and design national virtual pipeline-building events
  • Manage and track expenditures for recruiting budget

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Manage regional recruitment data in Salesforce, ensuring clean and accurate inputs
  • Execute and improve regional recruitment strategy through data

Selection and Admissions

  • Facilitate candidate selection activities, including facilitating interviews
  • Support the Admissions team as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Graduate of an HBCU highly preferred
  • A deep commitment to and experience working with HBCU students and networks
  • Commitment to anti-racism
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Results-oriented and motivated by clear goals
  • Ability to analyze data and use analysis to inform strategies and recruitment efforts
  • Self-directed and self-starter who is comfortable operating in gray space and maintains a high degree of personal responsibility
  • Ability to work remotely and as a part of a remote team and also manage close working relationships with local site teams
  • Ability to travel independently up to 40% of the time September – May
  • Willingness and ability to attend occasional events in the evenings and on the weekends

Preferred

  • Experience working with Salesforce and Box document storage platform
  • Experience with Handshake, LinkedIn, or other sourcing platforms
  • Previous experience in recruitment or sales
  • Previous experience in education and/or the non-profit sector
