Neighborhood Forestry Technician IType: Seasonal
The Baltimore Tree Trust is currently looking to identify motivated, hard-working individuals to join its tree installation and tree care crews. Successful candidates will have a strong willingness to learn new professional skills while working outdoors, as well as an interest in creating positive environmental change in Baltimore City neighborhoods. Forestry Technicians can expect to receive on-the-job training and industry-recognized certifications, in addition to a wide range of educational and professional development opportunities.
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐โ๐น๐น ๐๐ผ:
- Install container-grown, balled-and-burlapped, and bare root tree specimens
- Water, mulch, and prune young and mature trees alike
- Load, unload, and transport trees of various condition and size
- Safely operate power hand tools, saws, pruning loppers, etc.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory database and tracking system for all tree plantings
- Participate in workplace training events and occasionally oversee volunteers
- Assess trees for signs of common tree pests and health conditions
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ Baltimore Tree Trust is ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐ฟ:
- At least 18 years of age
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Physically able to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Possession of a valid driverโs license, or an ability to obtain one within 6 months, is preferred
๐ช๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ:
$14.50-15.00/hour
Employees are eligible to receive performance bonuses, wage increases, and other benefits after a 240-hour probationary period.

Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Hours subject to change seasonally. Occasional weekend and evening availability may be requested but is not mandatory.
