Job description
Position Title: Director of Grants & Contracts Department: Strategic Operations & Compliance Reports to: Senior Director of Strategic Operations & Compliance FMLA Status: Exempt Position Summary The Director of Grants & Contracts will manage all administrative functions related to funds awarded to Family League as well as the contractual administration with its funded partners. These functions include funder compliance, procurement, contract administration, and partner relationships. The Director will establish and implement standard operating procedures as they relate to all activities involved with Family League’s administrative contracts and with the administration of contracts with Family League funders, funded partners, and consultants. The Director will collaborate to ensure these procedures are executed with efficiency, accuracy, and with a focus on continuous improvement. The Director will lead an interdisciplinary approach to building and maintaining strong partnerships with funders and funded partner organizations. The Director will work collaboratively within Family League’s Grants & Contracts team and across the organization to meet the needs for technical assistance and capacity building of partner organizations and Family League staff. The?Director of?Grants & Contracts will be an active member of Family League’s Senior Management Team?and have a strong working relationship with the Senior Director of Finance. Essential Functions 
  • Supervise, train, and develop a team of Grants & Contracts professionals;
  • support staff to ensure high quality service related to award administration and funded partnership relations.
  •  Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all Family League investments and partnerships related to its funders and funded partner organizations.
  • Manage timely development and processing of Family League contracts with funders, funded organizations, consultants, and with Family League’s administrative contracts.
  • Maintain quality control of all contracts to ensure they adhere to the Family League’s standard terms, conditions, and applicable regulations as well as the requirements of specific funders and initiative expectations.
  • In partnership with the Senior Director of Strategic Operations & Compliance manage the due diligence monitoring activities of the Family League’s funding organizations.
  •  In partnership with the Senior Partnership Manager and Senior Director of Strategic Operations & Compliance, manage annual contracting and close-out procedures as applicable with all Family League funders and funded partners.
  • Participate in and facilitate utilization of the organization’s grants management systems to ensure maximum effectiveness and compliance with federal regulations; keep abreast of system enhancements/potentials and recommends, as appropriate.
  •  Develop and implement comprehensive plans for the day-to-day and big picture workings of the Grants & Contracts team that advance equitable and inclusive practices in the work, including requests for proposals (RFPs), Professional Service Agreements (PSAs), applications and renewal cycle, contract cycle and monitoring for funded partners, and grants administration.
  • Gather information and resources, and draft and complete the most complex requests for bids/requests for proposal/ tenders.
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions to build their professional capabilities.
  • Communicate the actions needed to advance team priorities; explain the relationship of the team’s work to the broader organization’s mission, visions, and values.
  • Keep abreast of and proactively communicate emerging trends within grants and contracts, compliance, and grantmaking fields
  • Identify, plan, and implement actions to build cross-organizational capacity within the grantmaking and grants and contracts spaces.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and agency committees as required.
  • Keep Senior Director of Strategic Operations & Compliance informed of contract administration, compliance, and procurement activity.
  • Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics.
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  Other Functions
  • As needed, works with Family League’s internal teams to identify and facilitate resources to meet technical assistance needs of funded partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to Family League staff and partner agencies around Family League’s contract terms, conditions, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities that build effectiveness in areas of inclusion, intercultural communication, and advancing diversity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Director of Strategic Operations & Compliance
