POAC 1ST MONDAY SERIES
The Maryland Professional Outplacement Assistance Center (POAC) will present its POAC 1st Monday session February 6th from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
1st Monday contains three separate sections. Section I will be a 90-minute overview of the latest job acquisition strategies required to make a competitive campaign. It serves as an orientation for new POAC customers as well as a refresher for any returning customers. The job acquisition process changes rapidly, and our customers need to remain aware of what has changed since their last campaign.
Section II will cover networking. Customers will be given guidance on networking techniques and strategies. Next they will have the opportunity to network with fellow attendees in order to enhance their networking skills.
Following a lunch break, Section III addresses salary negotiation. POAC staff will advise customers on the best practices of negotiating compensation packages. They then will be provided employer/employee scripts to role play actual negotiations.
If you have previously completed the JumpStart orientation, you are welcome to sign up to attend just Section II and/or Section III.
